Looking Back at 2015

2015 went by very fast and brought about changes here at your Love INC. Let’s start with December and go back through some of the year’s highlights.

In December there was Manger Network/Marines Toys 4 Tot’s…. what an exciting time! This year there were more requests for Christmas help than ever before. A total of 1,563 kids were adopted or the families got assistance for Christmas. Here is a breakdown of how they were helped.

• A HUGE thank you goes out to Salvation Army who adopted 222 kids through Angel Tree.
• Local businesses in Lufkin adopted 79 kids, (35 by Lockheed Martin alone)
• Local churches adopted 238 kids and their families which means over 100 families got a visit from a local church.
• Manger Network/Marines Toys 4 Tots helped 1,034 children and families, more than in the previous eight years. Over 75 churches, 40 agencies, and countless individuals gave toys to ensure that these children had a joy-filled Christmas.

Angelina County once again shows Love In The Name of Christ to all those needing help regardless of their situation. Thank you Angelina County!

The Campbell Group donated $10,000 for energy assistance through the TXU Energy Aid program. The donation was made to CISC and then a grant was award to CISC from TXU at a 5 to 1 ratio, which means that $60,000.00 in TXU Energy Aid monies was award to CISC and administered by Love INC.  Because of that, 584 families’ electric bills, totaling over $122,000, were paid to TXU from this grant. This would not have been possible without the generous donation of the Campbell Group. That is once again Love In The Name of Christ in action. Thank you to Campbell Group!!!!!

In September our Love INC web site loveincangelinacounty.org went live. We will be making some changes this year to the site such as adding “What’s Happening Today” where we will publish real time “love stories” so you can see how your Love INC—working daily through the local churches– is meeting individuals’ and families’ needs.
